Gerald is careful. Piggie is not. Piggie cannot help smiling. Gerald can. Piggie realizes that she and Gerald the elephant are in a book and that she can make the reader say words, but when Gerald comes to understand the danger of the book ending, Piggie comes up with a solution to get the reader to keep reading. Cute overload alert!  This book is great for anyone who loves cute animals or wants to learn more about conservation.  I was surprised to learn so many new things about these curious cubs and since they are a conservation reliant endangered species I am thankful for the hard work done at the nature preserve - it's amazing how much time and energy goes into taking care of each cub.

• Learn more about conservation status.  What's the difference between extinct, threatened, and at lower risk status and what does that mean for a species?
• Investigate other animals on the endangered species list.
• Learn more about pandas. Use a database or nonfiction text to gather important facts about pandas and share the information you find in a creative way.
