Opening a new school is a special experience, it's only brand-new once and there's only one very first day of school. We've almost completed our first month at Purefoy and so far it's been a busy and rewarding time. It has been a privilege to watch the building take shape by visiting the campus in April, taking a tour in June, and setting up the library in July. It was a pleasure to meet Mrs. Purefoy too - and how surreal it must be for her to see her name on our building!
It's also been fun to have the opening day collection we choose in May on the shelves. Every day I find a new book I can't wait to read. This is the year we'll get to add the most new books to the collection with our remaining construction budget funds. (And for any students, teachers, or parents with ideas for a special request this is definitely the time to ask.)
I look forward to getting to know the students, staff, and parents of Purefoy, and can't wait to see what exciting moments our inaugural school year with include.
A few photos of the library now...
