Good Book: The Day-Glo Brothers

by Chris Barton, illustrated by Tony Persiani
This good book is also a 2010 Sibert Award honor book for outstanding nonfiction for kids.
Before 1935, fluorescent colors did not exist. In this whimsical factual book, Barton discusses how two brothers worked together to create eye-popping hues by inventing fluorescent paint and colors. Through trial and error, the brothers perfected their creation and brought a new family of colors to the world.
